Empowerment and Growth

Daily life for children and young people in our residential homes is all about making informed choices. Each young person we support is unique, which means their needs, goals, and interests are unique too.
Our approach is personalised to each young person. We work with them, as well as health and social care professionals, to decide how they want to live and design care plans and pathways tailored to their needs and goals.
Life should always be filled with the things you love doing, regardless of your circumstances, condition, or care needs. We encourage and support young people to continue doing the things they enjoy, develop new hobbies, access education, play sports, and volunteer if they wish. Some examples of activities include:

  • Arts and Crafts: Painting, drawing, sculpture, and other creative projects.

  • Music and Drama: Playing instruments, singing, acting, and participating in theatre productions.

  • Sports and Fitness: Football, basketball, swimming, hiking, and other physical activities.

  • Outdoor Adventures: Camping, fishing, nature walks, and gardening.

  • Educational Activities: Tutoring, attending school, participating in educational workshops, and visiting museums.

  • Technology and Gaming: Learning coding, playing video games, and exploring new technologies.

  • Community Involvement: Volunteering, participating in local events, and joining clubs or groups.

  • Life Skills Development: Cooking, budgeting, and other practical skills for independent living.
